Job summary

Mill Farm Sports Village in Wesham near Preston seeks an experienced hospitality leader to head a boutique 19-bedroom hotel, conference and banqueting operation, and major matchday events within a modern sports stadium.

You’ll own budgets, drive guest experience and commercial performance, lead a hands-on team, and shape standards across bedrooms, events and service delivery.

Qualifications

• Strong background in hotel or venue management.
• Experience leading operational teams in a customer facing hospitality environment.
• Confident in managing budgets, forecasting, rota planning and stock control.
• A calm, organised approach under pressure, especially on event and match days.

Responsibilities

• Lead hotel to deliver a 5-star guest experience for corporate, leisure and matchday guests.
• Conference & banqueting: manage conferences, dinners, events from enquiry to delivery.
• Major sporting events: plan and oversee hospitality for key fixtures and events, coordinating with stadium, F&B and operations teams.
• People & leadership: recruit, coach and motivate your team, set clear standards and lead from the front on shift.
• Commercial performance: own budgets, forecasting and cost control, maximise revenue while protecting margins.
• Guest experience: be the face of the hotel and events operation, resolving issues proactively.

Salary: Up to £60,000 per annum dependent on experience

Location: Mill Farm Sports Village, Wesham (near Preston)

Contract: Full-time, on-site

Are you an experienced hospitality leader who thrives in a fast-paced, event-driven environment? At Mill Farm Sports Village, you’ll take the helm of our boutique 19 bedroom hotel, busy conference and banqueting operation, and major matchday and non-matchday events. All within a vibrant, modern sports stadium setting.

This is a hands on role where you’ll have real ownership, visible impact and the chance to shape the next stage of our guest experience and commercial performance.

What You’ll Be Doing

• Hotel: Leading the team to deliver a 5-star experience for corporate, leisure and matchday guests, with standards that reflect our high end, pitch view bedrooms and facilities.
• Conference & banqueting: Managing conferences, dinners, celebrations and corporate events from enquiry to execution, ensuring flawless delivery and repeat business.
• Major sporting events: Planning and overseeing hospitality for key fixtures and events at Mill Farm, coordinating closely with stadium, F&B and operations teams to deliver exceptional matchday experiences.
• People & leadership: Recruiting, coaching and motivating your team, setting clear standards and leading from the front on shift.
• Commercial performance: Owning budgets, forecasting and cost control, maximising bedroom, conference and event revenue while protecting margins.
• Guest experience: Being the face of the hotel and events operation. You will be visible, approachable and proactively resolving issues before they become complaints.
