The Grapes in Formby is part of Stonegate Group, a leading UK pub operator. We are seeking a proactive General Manager to lead the team, boost footfall, and deliver exceptional service. Accommodation may be available; you’ll manage events, drive sales, and oversee food and drink offerings to grow the pub’s community presence.

Salary up to £39,000 p.a. is offered for this role, with a supportive benefits package and opportunities for development.

Qualifications

• Must hold a valid Personal Licence.
• Proven ability to drive sales and community engagement.
• Experience in pub/restaurant leadership and delivering service standards.

The Opportunity

The Grapes sits in Formby’s charming conservation area, just minutes from the beach and a short walk from the vibrant village centre. With over 1.2 million visitors drawn to the coastline, National Trust sites, and local wildlife each year, Formby is a thriving hotspot for tourists, dog walkers, and locals alike.

A well‑loved community pub, The Grapes offers a spacious single‑level layout with flexible zones, two garden areas, external TVs, strong sports trade, and a large car park with EV charging.

About You

We’re seeking a proactive, sales‑driven General Manager who thrives at the heart of a community pub and knows how to create energy both inside and outside the building. You will have a real passion for sport, using key fixtures and events to drive footfall and build a loyal following. You'llbe community‑minded, confident hosting a wide range of activities, and skilled at connecting with locals, visitors, and partners to keep The Grapes buzzing year‑round.

With a strong focus on standards, service, and driving ROTW performance, you'llbring fresh ideas, commercial awareness, and the commitment needed to grow the pub’s food and drink offer. We are more than happy to consider an ambitious Deputy Manager who is ready to take their first General Manager role.
