Job summary

OCS UK & Ireland is seeking a Catering Operations Manager to oversee the day-to-day catering on a busy site. You will manage budgets, lead a catering team, and ensure high standards of food quality, hygiene, and safety while maintaining strong client relationships.

The role requires experience in contract catering, strong organisational skills, and excellent communication. Right to work in the UK is essential; exposure to Microsoft Excel is advantageous.

About The Role:

Working Pattern: Monday to Friday - but management of a 24/7 busy catering site so flexibility is required.

Key responsibilities

As part of your role, your key responsibilities will include, but are not limited to:

• You will be overseeing the day-to-day operations of the catering service, ensuring efficiency and high standards
• Building and maintaining strong relationships with clients, addressing their needs, and ensuring customer satisfaction
• Managing budgets, controlling costs, and ensuring the financial viability of the catering operations
• Leading, mentoring, and developing the catering team, providing both positive and constructive feedback
• Ensuring that food quality, hygiene, and safety standards are consistently met
• Developing and implementing strategies for growth and retention of business, including long-term account plans
• Driving sales efforts, developing bids and proposals, and ensuring operationally sound contracts
• Ensuring compliance with health and safety regulations and maintaining accurate records

What are we looking for?

• Previous experience in a similar role within the Contract Catering industry is required
• Hold relevant qualifications, have knowledge of food hygiene and health and safety is a must
• A proven track record in supervising a team and leadership is crucial
• Demonstrate high standards and be well organised in all areas of Management
• Excellent customer service skills and interpersonal skills are essential

The ideal candidate should meet the following criteria:

• Must have the Right to Work in the UK
• Demonstrated ability to lead and manage teams effectively
• Ability to handle different situations and find practical solutions
• Outstanding verbal and written communication skills
• Good time-management and organisational abilities
• Ability to handle sensitive and confidential information
• Competent with Microsoft Office tools, especially Excel
• While not always mandatory, having a food hygiene certificate (Level 3) is advantageous
