Job summary

TalentTech Recruitment Ltd is seeking a capable Production Manager to run day-to-day operations for a bespoke quartz and granite worktop fabricator near Coventry. You will lead fabrication, fitting, design, sales and finance teams from a hands-on role at the factory and showroom.

The ideal candidate has production/general management experience in manufacturing, with strong people management and financial acumen. Commute daily to the Coventry area; right to work in the UK is required.

Qualifications

• Production/general management experience in manufacturing or fabrication environments.
• Proven people management across office, production and site teams.
• Commercial and financial awareness with experience of P&L, margins and cash flow.
• Solid understanding of Health & Safety in manufacturing settings.
• Experience in stone, quartz or solid surface fabrication preferred.
• Collaborative, hands-on leadership closely aligned with business owners.
• Willingness to commute to the Coventry-area site daily; valid driving licence.
• Right to work in the UK without sponsorship.

Responsibilities

• Lead a team of ~10 across fabrication, fitting, design, sales and finance.

• Report to two joint directors.
• Ensure jobs run smoothly from enquiry through to installation.
• Manage staff day-to-day, including recruitment and discipline with directors.
• Plan budgets, pricing and discounts with Sales & Operations Manager for director approval.
• Contribute to P&L, management accounts and cash flow discussions with directors/bookkeeper.
• Manage Health & Safety across factory and site, including dust control.
• Support developing an internal Production Manager as the business grows.
• Assist marketing and trade development to sustain year-on-year growth.

Bespoke Quartz and Granite Worktop Fabricator - Site Based near Coventry

Candidate Location - Coventry, Rugby, Leamington-Spa, Nuneaton, Kenilworth

£50,000 - £65,000 Basic Salary + Profit-Related Bonus + Equity Potential

• Experience in stone, granite, quartz, joinery, KBB or other made-to-measure manufacturing and fabrication?
• Looking for a new role where you can lead a business day to day, with the prospect of a stake in its future?

If so, here’s an opportunity for you. An established, owner-managed granite and quartz worktop fabricator is seeking a capable, hands‑on Production Manager to take on the day‑to‑day running of the business as the director’s step back from operations.

Your Role:

• You will be leading a team of ~10 across a range of disciplines, from fabrication, fitting, and design, through to sales and finance.
• Oversight of a ~£1.5m turnover business with its own factory and showroom.
• Reporting directly to 2 joint directors
• Ensuring jobs run smoothly from enquiry and templating through fabrication to installation.
• Managing staff day to day, with recruitment and disciplinary decisions made jointly with the directors.
• Planning budgets, pricing and discounts with the Sales & Operations Manager, for director approval.
• Working with the directors on the P&L, management accounts and cash flow, and liaising with the bookkeeper and accountants.
• Managing H&S across the factory and on site, including dust control and safe handling.
• Helping to identify and develop an internal Production Manager as the business grows.
• Supporting marketing and trade business development to build on steady year‑on‑year growth.

Ideal Background:

• Above all, you need production/general management experience from a manufacturing environment.
• Proven people management across office, production and site‑based teams.
• Commercial and financial awareness - comfortable working with a P&L, margins and cash flow.
• Sound understanding of H&S in a manufacturing environment.
• Ideally, you’ll have worked in stone, quartz or solid surface fabrication, but bespoke joinery, KBB manufacturing, glass fabrication and aligned sectors will be considered too.
• Collaborative and comfortable working closely alongside business owners.
• Able to commute to the site near Coventry daily, with a full driving licence.
• You must have right to work in the UK without sponsorship.

The Company:

• An established, owner‑managed fabricator of granite, quartz and natural stone worktops, with its own factory and showroom.
• Around 70% of work comes from repeat trade customers including kitchen showrooms, joiners and kitchen fitters, with the remainder from private clients.
• Turnover has grown steadily by 8-10% a year with very little marketing.
• They’re seeking a proven manager to take on the day‑to‑day running of the business and help drive its next phase of growth.
