Job Description

The role combines high‑end hospitality management skills with an understanding of working within a historic, institutional environment. Whilst overseeing a variety of catering operations, including members events, hall lunches, commercial venue hire and Pegasus Restaurant, you are responsible for leading, managing, developing and implementing growth strategies. Responsibilities also include contributing to marketing strategies, recruiting, training, overseeing food quality, ensuring presence within service and events, and maintaining strong relationships with the Inn’s governing body and membership.

Key Responsibilities

• Understand the guest and manage their expectations efficiently.
• Maintain a great front‑of‑house presence, be a leader and inspire your team.
• Work closely with your team to uphold the company’s legacy and brand.
• Fully understand and articulate financial targets.
• Establish and maintain realistic budgets and identify ways to improve profitability.
• Effectively manage cost controls and ensure budgets are carefully adhered to.
• Demonstrate an up‑to‑date in‑depth understanding of the events and restaurants industry.
• Identify business opportunities that have the greatest potential return on investment and are consistent with company goals and brand.
• Build and maintain strategic relationships with internal and external individuals and groups.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of management or leadership experience with demonstrable skills and success in leading and developing others.
• Proven experience in a senior management role within the hospitality and events sector.
• Experience managing a profitable P&L.
• Proven track record of achieving sales and performance targets.
• Develop and implement strategies for growth and innovation.
• Availability to work a flexible schedule, including evenings, weekends and holidays.
