Job description

OakRay Care is a family run business, specialising in the provision of residential care for the elderly. We run high-quality care homes and are committed to making a positive difference to our residents, in every way. We currently operate four care homes; three on the Isle of Wight and one in Fordingbridge, in the New Forest.

Our most important asset is our staff, so we always look for individuals who want to make an impact and positive difference on those around them.

We have an exciting opportunity for an experienced Property Maintenance Person to join our friendly, supportive team at our Sandown care home.

Broadhurst provides accommodation and personal care for up to 25 residents aged 65+, including individuals living with dementia or physical health needs. The home has a warm, family feel — and maintaining a safe, comfortable environment is essential to the wellbeing of our residents.

This role covers the general maintenance and upkeep of the property, ensuring the building and grounds remain safe, functional, and well‑presented.

You should have experience in a property maintenance‑related field. You will require a basic tool kit to carry out day‑to‑day tasks; any additional specialist tools will be provided.

The job role also includes maintaining the garden area, lawn mowing, hedge cutting, weeding and general upkeep of the garden area to keep it to a high standard.

We are looking for someone who is enthusiastic, has a caring nature and good communication skills.

We are offering a salary in the range of £12.90 to £14 per hour, dependent of experience. This is a 24‑hour‑per‑week position.

The recruitment process within this organisation has a minimum of two stages. The completion of page one of the application form is stage one. This application will be reviewed, and based on the information received, a decision will be made as to whether to proceed to stage two, which is the completion of the full application form.
