Axis CLC Group is seeking a reliable Handyman / Labourer / Driver to support day-to-day site operations across residential and commercial projects. You will perform general tasks, assist trades, and ensure safety and quality on occupied and vacant sites.

This role supports ongoing maintenance and refurbishment contracts across occupied and void properties, assisting with general site duties, material handling and multi-trade support works. We’re looking for a reliable and hardworking Handyman / Labourer / Driver to join the team. You’ll play an important role supporting day-to-day site operations across a variety of residential and commercial projects.
This is a varied and hands-on role requiring flexibility, strong practical skills and the ability to work independently or as part of a team. You’ll regularly be working within occupied properties and active construction environments, so professionalism, communication and attention to detail are essential.
Carry out general minor multi-trade tasks across residential and commercial properties
Complete snagging works and defect rectification to a high standard
Support a wide range of projects, ensuring deadlines are achieved and client expectations are exceeded
Assist with monitoring material stock levels and requesting additional stock where required
Maintain high-quality workmanship while ensuring Health & Safety regulations are always followed
Carry out general labouring duties including assisting other trades and site teams
Arrange, collect and deliver materials, tools and equipment to various sites
Ensure work areas and sites are kept clean, tidy and safe at all times
Support site supervisors and Contracts Managers with daily operational requirements
Work independently or alongside other operatives and contractors when required
Communicate professionally with clients, residents and site teams
Travel between multiple sites as required throughout the working day
You’re a reliable and motivated individual with good all-round practical experience and a positive attitude towards work. You take pride in maintaining high standards, work well within a team environment and are confident managing tasks independently when required.
You’ll be customer focused, safety conscious and able to adapt to the changing demands of busy project environments.
Previous experience in a similar handyman, labouring or driving role
Good all-round practical knowledge and experience within maintenance or construction environments
Ability to work independently and as part of a team
Excellent attention to detail and strong work ethic
Customer-focused and professional approach
CSCS card essential
Full UK driving licence essential
Good understanding of Health & Safety procedures and site safety requirements
Ability to manage workloads effectively and meet deadlines
Strong communication and organisational skills
Contracted hours: 39 hours per week
Flexibility is required to meet operational demands and deadlines
Overtime may be required when necessary
Travel between sites is required, with some overnight stays depending on contract location
You will need a valid CSCS card before working on site. The card demonstrates your skills and ability to work safely within the construction industry.
To obtain a CSCS card, you must:
Pass the CITB Health, Safety and Environment Test
Demonstrate occupational competence through relevant qualifications
If currently unqualified, you may be eligible to complete the On-site Assessment and Training (OSAT) or Experienced Worker Practical Assessment (EWPA) route to gain qualification status
