Job summary

St Josephs Catholic High School, Workington is seeking a General Kitchen Assistant to join our in-house catering team.

Working from 12:30pm to 2:30pm, Monday to Friday, you will support the lunchtime service, help with food preparation, serving, cleaning and maintaining hygiene standards in a busy school environment.

Qualifications

• Previous catering experience would be helpful, but enthusiasm, reliability and a willingness to learn are equally important.

• Wash up and assist with general kitchen cleaning.

Our catering provision is runin-house, so you will be joining our own dedicated school team and playing an important part in providing a welcoming and efficient lunchtime service for our students and staff.

About the role

Duties will include:

• Supporting the preparation and service of food
• Serving students and staff during lunchtime
• Clearing and cleaning tables, work surfaces and catering areas
• Washing up and assisting with general kitchen cleaning
• Helping to maintain high standards of hygiene and food safety
• Supporting the wider catering team as required
