The role will suit an experienced Senior Legal Counsel stepping into a General Counsel position. It is a fully office-based role in the Heathrow Airport Area (5 days a week).

Duties & Responsibilities

• Provide accurate and timely legal counsel to executives on various topics (commercial agreements, dispute resolution, corporate finance, and corporate commercial law).
• Oversee complex legal transactions from a project management perspective, ensuring appropriate input from all stakeholders and specialists.
• Lead risk management strategies within the company.
• Ensure compliance with relevant laws and regulations.
• Take responsibility for Company Secretarial duties.
• Draft and solidify agreements, contracts, and other legal documents as needed.
• Manage external counsel and consultants to ensure value for money.
• Clarify legal language or specifications for company staff.
• Maintain current knowledge of legal developments and legislative changes.

Skills & Experience

• Legal Qualification – Qualified UK solicitor with a minimum of 10 years PQE experience (considering other PQE levels and qualified lawyers from other common law jurisdictions eligible for QLT).
• Excellent knowledge of corporate law, especially corporate finance, dispute resolution, and contracts.
• Methodical with attention to detail.
• Strong commercial outlook and pragmatic legal approach.
• Solid training from reputable law firms and/or business environments.
• Proven experience as legal counsel in a fast-paced business setting.
• High professional ethics and integrity.
• Sound judgment and analytical skills.
• Ability to manage multiple diverse projects simultaneously.
• Excellent communication skills.
• Approximately 8 years of experience in a small to medium national law firm before transitioning into business.
