Role Overview:

Morgan Philips Specialist Recruitment is representing a world-leading professional services firm in their search for an Assistant General Counsel to join their in-house legal team. The client seeks an experienced commercial lawyer focused on technology, data privacy, data protection, and AI. The successful candidate will provide practical, business-focused legal advice to the company's business and corporate services partners worldwide.

Key Accountabilities:

• Provide legal support on a wide range of legal and regulatory matters for a global professional services organization.
• Advise on technology, data privacy, data protection, AI, and related matters; support day-to-day commercial and regulatory legal issues.
• Help manage compliance with relevant laws and regulations across jurisdictions and network policies.
• Support Technology and Risk Management teams with legal guidance.
• Develop and implement governance, operational policies, procedures, and playbooks.
• Review and advise on new services, solutions, and related governance and legal issues.
• Manage external legal counsel in multiple jurisdictions efficiently and cost-effectively.
• Balance practical advice with managing company risk and compliance obligations.
• Make presentations and write articles on legal topics.
• Mentor and support junior team members.

About You:

• UK-qualified lawyer (or equivalent outside the UK) with significant law firm experience; in-house experience is a plus.
• Strong legal skills with the ability to handle complex legal and regulatory issues.
• Strategic risk management skills; ability to identify issues and recommend mitigation.
• Experience negotiating, drafting, and reviewing agreements across jurisdictions.
• Able to work independently and manage complex files, collaborating with teams.
• Capable of balancing legal risk with business needs in a fast-growing global environment.
• Self-motivated, thriving in a fast-paced, stakeholder-rich setting.
• Excellent communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills.
