NEW GROUND WON’T BREAK ITSELF

Our Office of the General Counsel advises on a wide variety of contentious and non-contentious risk issues that arise in the delivery of professional services across assurance, tax, and advisory areas.

We’re open to flexible working arrangements, including reduced hours and job shares, to support work-life balance.

A look into the role

As a lawyer specializing in contentious work within our in-house legal team, you will:

  1. Deal with claims, issues, and projects such as professional liability claims, regulatory issues, professional indemnity insurance, litigation, mediation, and other risk-management issues.
  2. Work with colleagues to provide pragmatic advice to stakeholders, including partners and senior staff.
  3. Instruct and manage external solicitors, counsel, and experts in disputes.

This role may be suitable for a litigator at a junior or mid-level associate stage, but applications from all qualified candidates demonstrating the necessary skills are welcome.

Minimum criteria for candidates

  • Qualified solicitor or barrister with experience in commercial dispute resolution in England and Wales or similar jurisdiction.
  • Good knowledge of law and procedures related to professional liability, especially for professional advisers.

Additional desirable skills include understanding of risk-management issues, pragmatic approach, self-starting attitude, strong communication skills, teamwork ability, and relationship-building skills.
