Job summary

Houston & Hawkes is seeking a friendly General Assistant to join our team in Stoke-on-Trent. You will help deliver an excellent dining experience, serving food and drinks, keeping spaces clean and supporting front-of-house and kitchen teams.

The role offers a 37.5-hour week at £13.45 per hour, with benefits including free meals on duty, a pension scheme, life assurance and opportunities for training and progression.

Qualifications

• Previous experience in catering, hospitality, cafés or customer service would be welcome, but a great attitude is just as important.

Responsibilities

• Welcome guests with a warm, friendly and professional approach.
• Assist with food and beverage service, ensuring great presentation and customer care.
• Support the preparation and replenishment of counters, displays and service areas.
• Help with basic food preparation and day-to-day catering tasks.
• Operate tills and handle payments accurately when required.
• Keep dining areas, counters and equipment clean, organised and ready for service.
• Work closely with the kitchen and front-of-house teams to deliver a smooth service.
• Follow food safety, allergen and health and safety procedures at all times.
