Job summary

Sovereign Network Group is recruiting a General Builder to join our Property Team across Newbury, Thatcham and Reading. This is a full-time 40-hour role with a company van and fuel card for business travel; a valid licence with at least one year’s driving is required.

Responsibilities include drainage, roofing, rendering, fencing, flooring, brickwork and other building tasks with a focus on health and safety and customer service in both occupied and empty premises.

Qualifications

• NVQ Level 2 or equivalent in building trade.
• Experience in both occupied and empty premises and strong customer service.
• Strong health and safety mindset with knowledge of best practices.
• Full and current driving licence with at least 1 year driving experience.

Responsibilities

• Dig underground drainage, repair collapsed pipework and install soakaways.
• Roofing and roof repairs; assess roof integrity and guttering repairs.
• Re-pointing, rendering, tiling and cement works.
• Install and repair fencing including panels and posts.
• Lay self-levelling compound, flooring and floor tiles.
• Repair brickwork and blockwork.

Salary: £33,696.00 - £37,234.00 Per year

We're currently recruiting for an experienced General Builder to join our Property Team in our Newbury, Thatcham and Reading locality. As you'll spend a fair amount of time on the road we will provide you with a business use van and fuel card so you'll not be out of pocket.

What you'll do:

• Digging underground drainage, repairing collapsed pipework and installing soakaways.
• Roofing and roof repairs, roof problem solving, assessing roof integrity and guttering repairs.
• Re-pointing, minor rendering, tiling and cement works.
• All types of fencing, posts, feather edge, chain link and panels.
• Laying self-levelling compound, flooring and floor tiles
• Repairing brickwork and blockwork.

This is a full-time 40 hour role.

What you'll need:

• Ideally, you'll have a minimum of NVQ level 2 or equivalent in a Building trade OR have proven experience working in the trade.
• You will have experience of working in both occupied and empty premises and be able to demonstrate good customer service skills.
• Have a strong health and safety mindset with knowledge of health & safety best practices.
• Enjoy working as part of a team.
• Due to a requirement to travel within this role, candidates must hold a full and current driving license with a minimum of 1 years driving experience.
