Job summary

Sanctuary Supported Living invites applications for a General Assistant Cleaning position at Roman Ridge, Sheffield. You will join a compassionate team supporting retirement community residents, keeping communal areas clean and meeting residents’ needs.

The role offers flexible hours (16 hours per week) with enhanced pay rates for additional hours when available. We provide training, a contributory pension, and a supportive, inclusive culture.

Qualifications

• Level 2 diploma in housekeeping or catering, or willingness to work towards.
• Good interpersonal and customer service skills.
• Basic understanding of health and safety in the workplace.
• Experience with general cleaning duties (desirable).
• Some experience in a domestic or catering environment.

Responsibilities

• Keep communal areas, offices, and kitchens clean and tidy.
• Complete all cleaning duties to a high standard.
• Report any faults or hazards to maintain a safe environment.
• Monitor stock levels and ensure equipment is used safely.
• Help prepare meals and drinks while meeting customers’ needs and respecting their privacy and dignity.
