Job summary

Sanctuary Group in Derby is seeking a General Cleaning Assistant to keep communal areas, offices and kitchens clean and tidy across our retirement community. You’ll work with a caring team to meet high standards while delivering a respectful, welcoming environment for residents.

We offer tools, training and support to help you grow, with a focus on health, safety and customer service. This not-for-profit employer reinvests in people and services to help you thrive.

Qualifications

• Experience with general cleaning duties (desirable).
• Good interpersonal and customer service skills.
• Basic health and safety knowledge in the workplace.

Responsibilities

• Keep communal areas, offices, and kitchens clean and tidy.
• Complete cleaning duties to a high standard.
• Report faults or hazards to maintain a safe environment.
• Monitor stock levels and use equipment safely.
• Support meal and drink preparation while respecting privacy.
• Some experience in domestic or catering environments.
• Level 2 diploma in housekeeping or catering, or willingness to work towards.
• Good interpersonal and customer service skills.
• Basic understanding of health and safety in the workplace.

Your role

• Keep communal areas, offices, and kitchens clean and tidy
• Complete all cleaning duties to a high standard

• Help prepare meals and drinks while meeting customers’ needs and respecting their privacy and dignity
• Experience with general cleaning duties (desirable)

• Good interpersonal and customer service skills
• Basic understanding of health and safety in the workplace
