Job summary

Sanctuary Group is hiring a General Assistant - Catering at Doddington Court in Cambridgeshire to help prepare meals and drinks for residents and support a high standard of service.

You’ll work 16 hours a week at £12.71 per hour in a friendly kitchen team, with great emphasis on food hygiene, cleanliness of kitchens and communal areas, and friendly customer service within a not-for-profit retirement community.

Qualifications

  • Level 2 diploma in housekeeping or catering is required, or willingness to work towards.
  • Good interpersonal and customer service skills are essential.
  • Basic understanding of health and safety in the workplace is needed.
  • Some experience in a domestic or catering environment is advantageous.

Responsibilities

  • Help prepare meals and drinks while following food hygiene standards
  • Support customers and colleagues to deliver a high standard of service
  • Keep kitchens, communal areas, and flats clean and tidy
  • Report any faults or hazards to maintain a safe environment
  • Monitor stock levels and ensure equipment is used safely
  • Experience with general cleaning duties is desirable
  • Some experience in a domestic or catering environment
  • Level 2 diploma in housekeeping or catering, or willingness to work towards
  • Good interpersonal and customer service skills
  • Basic understanding of health and safety in the workplace

We’re excited to welcome a General Assistant - Catering to support the preparation and serving of nutritious, well-presented meals at our Doddington Court, Benwick Road, Doddington, Cambridgeshire, PE15 0WD Retirement Community, without the long hours or split shifts often found in hospitality. Working as part of a friendly kitchen team, you’ll help create a positive dining experience for residents within a calm, well-organised environment.
