Job summary

BaxterStorey in Scotland is inviting applications for a casual General Assistant with background knowledge in food catering services to join our dedicated team at the college.

You will assist with serving, maintain cleanliness, follow food safety procedures, and support staff during meals. This role offers flexible hours, training opportunities, free meals while at work, and benefits through our perks program.

Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Assist in serving breakfast, lunch, snacks and dinner according to menus and recipes.
• Maintain front-of-house and back-of-house cleanliness and organise dishes.
• Follow food handling and storage procedures to ensure safety and avoid contamination.
• Monitor food and supply levels and report shortages or discrepancies.
• Provide friendly, efficient service to students and staff during meals, including special dietary needs.
• Participate in training on food service procedures, safety protocols, and customer service standards.

Job Description

As a General Assistantyou will…

• Assist in the serving of breakfast, lunch, snacks and dinner according to established menus and recipes.
• Maintain cleanliness of the front of house, and back of house areas including organising dishes and utensils.
• Following proper food handling and storage procedures to ensure food safety and prevent contamination.
• Monitor inventory levels of food and supplies and notify management of any shortages or discrepancies.
• Provide friendly and efficient service to students and staff during mealtimes, addressing any concerns or special dietary needs.
• Participate in training sessions and meeting related to food service procedures, safety protocols, and customer service standards.

Qualifications

• Ideally have experience working within catering
• Have good Health & Safety knowledge.
• Flexible with a can-do attitude, customer focused.
• Fun and enthusiastic
• Have excellent organization skills.
