Job Title: General Assistant

We have a fantastic opportunity for a permanent part-time General Assistant to join our team at Ilford Polyclinic, Ilford.

• Hours of Work: 23 hours per week
• Schedule: Monday 0600-1400, Friday 1400-2200, Saturday-Sunday 1530-1930
• Pay: £14.30 per hour
• Training will be provided
• DBS check required
• Driving license required; role involves travel to sites in North East London

About the role:

The role of a General Assistant involves delivering general assistance services to the required standards, ensuring high-quality service delivery and working practices.

Key Responsibilities:

• Providing a range of general assistance services, including:
• Transporting patients to and from wards
• Delivering linen to wards and removing spoiled linen to laundry
• Handling clinical and household waste removal and storage
• Managing blood samples and specimens
• Performing cleaning duties, including operating electrical and steam cleaning equipment, in accordance with national standards
• Maintaining grounds, car parks, and gardens; in extreme weather, salting/gritting paths and car parks
