Job summary

Groundforce, a depot-based equipment rental provider, seeks a reliable team member to support in the depot. You will prepare gear for hire, assist with stock management, and maintain safety records. Full training will be provided for equipment and tools.

Qualifications

• Ability to work outdoors in all weather
• Strong accuracy in completing records and paperwork
• Experience with scanners, PDAs, tablets and computers
• Moderate fitness level for depot duties
• Reliable, flexible and punctual
• Valid full driving licence and own transport
• Knowledge of shoring operations desirable
• Experience in construction/housing/civil engineering desirable
• Knowledge of shoring or hire industry advantageous

Responsibilities

• Prepare equipment for hire under supervision by the Depot Foreman/Leadinghand
• Liaise with line manager to understand customer requirements and maintain service levels
• Use a pressure washer to clean equipment
• Drive forklift trucks to load/unload and move equipment
• Pick/return/scan equipment and manage stock levels
• Load and unload equipment safely
• Inspect, service and repair hire equipment and depot assets
• Use hand tools (training provided) and maintain records
• Keep accurate service/inspection records
• Identify and record damaged equipment
• Maintain stock levels and equipment quality
• Keep depot clean and well maintained
• Occasionally drive the depot van
• Carry out additional duties as required by management

Job description

Groundforce is the market leading rental provider of excavation support, providing specialist equipment to customers worldwide. Provide full support to your line manager delivering excellent service, ensuring all depot transactions are completed safely, timely, efficiently, accurately and in line with company policies/procedures/processes and customer requirements to meet the overall objectives of the business. Furthermore inspect, service and maintain Groundforce equipment and depot assets to specified quality standards, as set down by the company.

Key Responsibilities

• Working in the Depot under instructions from the Depot Foreman/Leadinghand to ensure equipment is ready for hire
• Liaise with your line manager, to agree and understand our customers’ requirements and ensure that the highest level of service is maintained
• Use pressure washer to clean equipment
• Drive counterbalance or multi-directional forklift trucks to load/unload vehicles and move, prepare and store equipment (full in-house training will be provided)
• Pick/return/scan equipment accurately and identify stock overages/shortages
• Load and unload equipment correctly and safely
• Inspect, service and repair specified hire equipment and depot assets
• Use of pneumatic/electrical hand tools (full in-house training will be provided)
• Keep up to date and accurate service/inspection records at all times
• Identify and record damage of out of service equipment
• Ensure stock levels are accurately maintained, and quality of equipment is kept in line with company standards
• Have a positive attitude towards Health, Safety and the Environment, reporting any issues to your supervisor
• Ensure the depot is maintained to a high standard, keeping it clean and tidy
• Occasionally drive the depot van when deemed necessary
• When considered necessary or appropriate by management you may be required to carry out any duties considered within your skill and competence to assist the smooth running of the business

What We’re Looking For

• A willingness to work outside in all weathers
• Ability to complete records and paperwork accurately is essential
• Capability to use scanners, PDA’s, tablets and computers
• A reasonable level of fitness is required
• To be flexible, trustworthy and reliable and have excellent time keeping skills is essential
• Valid full clean driving licence and access to own mode of transport
• Knowledge of shoring commercial operations – desirable
• Working knowledge of construction/housing/civil engineering industry - desirable
• Knowledge of shoring and/or the hire industry advantageous - desirable
