General Adults Consultant Psychiatrist Part Time

As a Consultant Psychiatrist, you'll have the opportunity to lead a team and strive for better care, a better you, and a better service. You'll be the clinical expert from a medical perspective, ensuring best practice care is delivered and collaborating with NHS clinicians and commissioners.

Main duties of the job

Working 15 hours a week at Rosebank House Hospital, you will be responsible for ensuring patients are assessed, treated, and discharged safely, managing medication, and leading the CPA and ICR process to ensure full compliance with quality standards. You will also be involved in quality assurance, complaints, and co-production.

Rosebank House Hospital is a small, friendly and established Open mental health Rehab service in Reading, with a team that works well together and supports each other.

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Ensure that people admitted are assessed, treated, and discharged safely
  • Medication management
  • Quality assurance, complaints and co-production
  • Delivery of NICE guidance
  • Lead and manage the CPA and ICR process to ensure full compliance with quality standards

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • MBBS or equivalent medical qualification
  • Full GMC registration with licence to practice
  • MRCPsych or MRCPsych equivalent approved by the Royal College of Psychiatrists
  • Section 12(2) approval, Approved Clinician status
  • Clinical training and experience required for gaining UK CCT.
  • Widespread and detailed experience of assessment and management of patients in psychiatry
  • Ability to take full and independent responsibility for clinical care of patients
