Job summary

Sanderson Government & Defence is seeking an experienced Full Stack Engineer to design, build and scale Generative AI solutions across AI-driven and traditional projects. You will work with a multidisciplinary team to deliver production‑ready platforms and apply cutting‑edge techniques.

You will gain exposure to RAG, LLMs and cloud-native architectures, with a strong focus on secure, scalable delivery and effective collaboration with stakeholders across the business.

Qualifications

• Must hold active SC (Security Check) clearance.
• Experience building microservices using Python with FastAPI, and TypeScript with Express.
• Experience developing React applications with TypeScript and frameworks like Next.js or Vite.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to develop Generative AI proofs-of-concept (RAG, intelligent agents).
• Scale proofs-of-concept into production-ready solutions.
• Design and develop full stack applications across AI-driven and traditional projects.
• Support infrastructure for secure, scalable end-to-end solutions.

The Role

As a Full Stack Engineer, you will:

• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to develop Generative AI proof‑of‑concepts using technologies such as Retrieval‑Augmented Generation (RAG) and intelligent agents.
• Scale successful proof‑of‑concepts into robust, production‑ready solutions.
• Design and develop full stack applications across both AI‑driven and traditional software projects.
• Support the development of infrastructure that enables secure, scalable and reliable end‑to‑end solutions.
• Explore emerging technologies and apply new innovations to real‑world challenges.
• Share knowledge across the team through coaching, mentoring and technical guidance.

Skills & ExperienceEligibility

• Must hold active SC (Security Check) Clearance or be eligible to obtain and maintain this level of clearance.

Technical ExpertiseBackend Development

• Experience building microservices using Python with FastAPI, TypeScript with Express, or equivalent technologies.

Frontend Development

• Experience developing React applications using TypeScript.
• Familiarity with frameworks such as Next.js, Vite, or similar.

Generative AI Technologies

• Experience with Generative AI frameworks such as LangChain, LangGraph, CrewAI, Vercel AI, or equivalent tools.
• Practical experience working with Large Language Models (LLMs), including platforms such as OpenAI, Anthropic, Mistral, Llama, or similar.
• Familiarity with tools that support local or hosted model deployment.

Cloud & Infrastructure

• Proficiency in AWS or Azure for application hosting and deployment.
• Hands‑on experience with Docker, Kubernetes and Docker Compose.
• Exposure to Infrastructure as Code tools such as Terraform.
• Experience with CI/CD platforms including GitHub, GitLab, Jenkins, or similar.
• Familiarity with monitoring and observability tools for AI applications and services.

Database Technologies

• Experience with vector databases such as ChromaDB, Pinecone, PGVector, Qdrant, MongoDB, or similar solutions.
• Familiarity with NoSQL databases.
• Experience working with SQL databases, particularly PostgreSQL or equivalent.

Version Control

• Strong experience using Git and modern version control platforms.

Working Practices

• Experience working within Agile delivery environments.

Communication Skills

• Strong stakeholder management and communication skills.
• Ability to communicate effectively with both technical and non-technical audiences.
• Comfortable collaborating with internal teams and external stakeholders.
