Job summary

Citigroup Inc. in Belfast is seeking a hands-on engineering lead to build AI-powered products and shape engineering culture.

You will provide technical leadership while coding hands-on and partnering with teams to design scalable developer platforms. You will set technical direction across frontend, backend, APIs, and cloud services; mentor engineers; drive Generative AI adoption; and champion DevSecOps and platform engineering across multiple teams.

Qualifications

• Proven experience leading software engineering organisations in a hands-on technical capacity.
• Strong software engineering expertise across modern languages and frameworks (Python, Go, TypeScript, JavaScript or React).
• Experience delivering AI-enabled or Generative AI solutions within enterprise environments.

Responsibilities

• Drive the design and delivery of enterprise-scale applications
• Remain hands-on with software architecture, system design and reviews
• Set technical direction across full-stack ecosystems (frontend, backend, APIs, cloud)
• Partner with senior stakeholders to align platform strategy
