Job summary

Prospero Teaching is seeking a dedicated GCSE Maths and English Tutor in Wingate to support a student with SEN/SEMH needs outside a traditional classroom setting. The role is in-person, 5 hours per week, with a focus on engagement and progression toward GCSE qualifications.

You will tailor lessons, monitor progress, liaise with parents and Prospero Teaching, and adapt approaches to EHCP targets. DBS enhanced preferred and right to work in the UK essential.

Qualifications

• GCSE Maths and English tutoring experience for GCSE progression.
• Experience supporting students with SEN/SEMH needs.
• Ability to adapt to EHCP targets and individual learning needs.
• Safeguarding and DBS compliance understood.

Responsibilities

• Deliver tailored one-to-one GCSE Maths and English tutoring sessions.
• Plan and adapt lessons to address gaps in maths, literacy, reading, spelling and writing.
• Support progression towards GCSE qualifications and examination skills.
• Use engaging teaching strategies to encourage participation and confidence.
• Monitor progress, attendance and learning outcomes.
• Provide regular feedback to parents, carers and Prospero Teaching team.
• Work within EHCP targets and SEMH considerations.
