Job summary

Prospero Teaching is seeking a dedicated Tutor to deliver GCSE Maths and English support in Wingate for a student with SEN/SEMH needs. This in-person role focuses on engagement outside a traditional classroom, with 5 hours per week.

You will tailor lessons to close gaps, support progression towards GCSEs, and provide regular feedback to parents and the Prospero Teaching team. Right to work in the UK and a current DBS Update Service are required.

Qualifications

• Experience supporting young people with SEN/SEMH needs.
• Experience delivering GCSE Maths and English tuition.
• Understanding of EHCPs and adapting teaching to individual needs.
• Right to work in the UK.

Responsibilities

• Deliver tailored one-to-one GCSE Maths and English tutoring sessions to a student with SEN/SEMH needs.
• Plan and adapt lessons to address gaps in mathematical knowledge, literacy, reading comprehension, spelling, and writing.
• Support progression towards GCSE Maths and English qualifications and develop examination skills.
• Use engaging, flexible teaching strategies to encourage participation, motivation and confidence.
• Provide regular feedback to parents, carers and the Prospero Teaching team.
