Job summary

Prospero Teaching is recruiting a Maths Tutor to deliver targeted GCSE Maths and numeracy support in Halton. Role offers 5-15 hours per week with ongoing start date in November 2026.

The tutor will identify gaps, deliver personalised lessons, and help learners with calculations, algebra, geometry and exam techniques, monitoring progress and adjusting sessions to meet individual needs.

Qualifications

• Strong maths and numeracy knowledge across GCSE level.
• Experience teaching or tutoring secondary-age learners.
• QTS, PGCE or equivalent desirable.
• Experience delivering catch-up or intervention sessions.
• Excellent communication and explanation skills.

Essential Requirements

• Right to work in the UK.
• Enhanced DBS on the Update Service or willingness to obtain the required clearance.
