A GCSE Maths Lecturer is sought by a further education provider in the East Midlands on a temporary contract. The role involves planning and delivering GCSE maths lessons, preparing schemes of work and assessment materials, marking work and giving timely feedback, and maintaining accurate records.

You will support learners aiming to achieve their maths qualifications, including resits, and work closely with the maths team to ensure progress and achievement across the study programme.

Qualifications

• Degree or equivalent in a relevant subject area.
• Experience teaching GCSE maths in FE or secondary education.
• Strong understanding of GCSE specification and resit strategies.
• Ability to adapt teaching to varied learning needs.
• Excellent communication and organisational skills.

Responsabilités

GCSE Maths Lecturer

Location: the East Midlands

About the Role

A further education provider in the East Midlands is looking for a GCSE Maths Lecturer to teach and support learners working towards their maths qualifications, including those resitting as part of their study programme.

You'll plan and deliver sessions that keep learners engaged, building the confidence and numeracy skills they need for work, further study and everyday life. You'll assess work, give timely feedback and keep accurate records of progress and achievement.

Your responsibilities will include:

• Planning and delivering GCSE maths lessons to groups of learners of mixed abilities.
• Preparing schemes of work, lesson resources and assessment materials.
• Marking learner work and providing feedback that supports timely achievement.
• Monitoring progress and offering additional support where learners have gaps in their knowledge.
• Working alongside the maths team and wider curriculum staff.
• Maintaining accurate records of attendance, progress and assessment decisions.

What We're Looking For

Essential:

• A strong numeracy background, with a degree or equivalent qualification in a relevant subject area
• Experience teaching GCSE maths in further education or secondary education
• A good understanding of the GCSE specification and effective resit strategies
• The ability to adapt your teaching to varied learning needs
• Excellent communication and organisational skills

Desirable (but not essential):

• A recognised teaching qualification such as QTS, QTLS, PGCE, Cert Ed or a Level 5 Diploma in Education and Training
