Job description

Overview

Great Bay Community College is seeking qualified applicants for adjunct faculty positions in Welding for Fall 2026. Applicants must hold a certificate or degree in welding and be residents of a New England state.

Responsibilities

Instructors will prepare and teach a 16-week course (e.g., WELD 100G Basic Welding). Instruction may be in-classroom or online. Responsibilities include lesson planning, grading, student engagement, and maintaining safety standards.

Compensation

Hourly rate ranges from $850 to $1,000 per contact hour (equivalent to $47.95-$59.45 per clinical hour if applicable). Compensation is based on adjunct faculty rank determined by education and industry/teaching experience.

Qualifications
Education and Licensure
  • Associate degree or welding certificate.
  • None required.
Experience
  • Minimum 5 years of welding experience.
  • Proficiency in all major welding processes: Oxy-Fuel, Shielded Metal Arc, Gas Metal Arc, Gas Tungsten Arc, Flux Core, Aluminum.
  • Knowledge of code welding procedures and specifications.
  • Ability to read blueprints with a strong mathematics background.
  • Experience with fabrication, equipment, and trade tools.
  • Leadership skills with a focus on safety.
Other Qualifications
  • Demonstrated computer literacy.
  • Strong academic background.
