Job summary

CBW Staffing Solutions Ltd is seeking a skilled Air Conditioning Engineer to join a site-based team in Gateshead, Tyne and Wear. You will maintain, service and troubleshoot split systems, VRV/VRF and chillers, ensuring reliability and client satisfaction.

The role involves working Monday to Friday with shift patterns, on-call rota, and a pension, with opportunities for training and progression within a supportive facilities management environment.

Qualifications

• Proven experience as an Air Conditioning Engineer or similar role within facilities management.
• Hold F-Gas Cat 1 Regulations certification.
• Strong knowledge of HVAC systems, installation, maintenance and repair.
• Familiarity with refrigeration principles and equipment.
• Proficiency in diagnosing and troubleshooting mechanical and electrical faults.
• Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Effective communication and customer service skills.

Responsibilities

• Maintain, service and troubleshoot air conditioning systems, including split systems, VRV/VRF systems and chillers.
• Perform routine maintenance tasks such as cleaning coils and replacing filters.
• Diagnose and repair mechanical and electrical faults to minimise downtime.
• Conduct inspections and assessments of HVAC systems to identify issues and solutions.
• Collaborate with maintenance personnel and contractors for complex repairs and upgrades.
• Adhere to safety protocols and industry regulations to promote a safe working environment.
