Job summary

365 People at our busy transport depot is seeking reliable Gate Operatives to be the first point of contact for vehicles, drivers and visitors, ensuring only authorised entries. You will manage access, verify credentials and maintain a courteous, professional approach.

The role covers various shifts, including Lates and Nights, with 40–42 hours per week. You will perform yard duties, keep accurate records, and liaise with the team to pass on issues promptly.

Qualifications

• Reliable and punctual with a strong attendance record.
• Good attention to detail.
• Comfortable with paperwork and dealing with people politely and confidently.
• Able to work independently, including night shifts.
• Previous gatehouse, security or logistics experience is welcome but not essential.

Responsibilities

• Controlling access at the depot gate for vehicles, visitors and drivers.
• Checking driver documents, CMRs and delivery paperwork.
• Carrying out general yard duties and housekeeping.
• Keeping accurate records and passing on any issues to the team.
