About the Role

An excellent opportunity has opened within our Operations department for a Gate Services Coordinator to join us and be based at our operation in London Gateway.

Reporting to the Gate Supervisor, the ideal candidate will be responsible for the performance and support of all gate-related services, acting as the go-to person for everything from assisting haulier drivers and verifying documentation to troubleshooting system issues and ensuring seamless communication across departments.

Location: Stanford Le Hope

Working Hours: Shift Pattern 2 over 7 & 5 over 7 - 6.30am - 6.30pm

How will you contribute:

1. Act as the first point of contact for all gate-related issues, ensuring the safe and efficient flow of traffic through LGW gate.
2. Provide on-the-ground support to haulier drivers, resolving issues during drop-off and pick-up processes with professionalism and urgency.
3. Monitor and manage the performance of automated gate systems, ensuring minimal downtime and quick resolution of faults.
4. Direct drivers carrying out-of-gauge (OOG) or break-bulk cargo to the appropriate handling areas, ensuring compliance with safety and operational protocols.
5. Manage all incoming queries and issues at the gate operations desk, ensuring timely and effective resolution.
6. Provide direct support to haulier drivers using the Driver Registration system, guiding them through the process and resolving any issues.
7. Serve as a key contact for companies and hauliers using the VBS platform, offering guidance and support.
8. Take ownership of VBS-related responsibilities during early morning (before 9am), evening (after 5pm), and holiday periods.
9. Maintain flexibility to support various operational roles as needed, including covering for absent colleagues or during peak periods.

What will you bring:

• Experience in logistics, transport, or port operations (preferred)
• Strong communication and problem-solving skills
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team
• A valid UK driving license
• Flexibility to cover VBS duties outside core hours (before 9am/after 5pm)

Note: All roles are subject to eligibility to work in the UK, possession of a full valid UK driving license or appropriate international license, no unspent criminal convictions, and meeting health and safety requirements including weight, height, blood pressure, and hearing checks. Roles may close early depending on application volume.
