Job summary
SGS is seeking a Gas Testing Engineer to join our field-based team across North London and East Anglia. This hands-on role focuses on gas testing, sampling, analysis and reporting for client sites.
No previous gas testing experience is required; full training will be provided. Regular travel to customer sites, with Monday–Friday hours and flexible travel, offers development in a safety‑critical environment.
Qualifications
- Educated to A-Levels, BTEC, NVQ, apprenticeship, HNC, or equivalent experience.
- Experience in testing, inspection, laboratory, environmental, engineering, or industrial environment.
- Strong attention to detail and a practical, hands-on approach.
- Good communication and report-writing skills.
- Full UK driving licence.
Responsibilities
- Carry out onsite gas testing and analysis at customer locations.
- Collect gas and environmental samples for laboratory analysis.
- Prepare, label and dispatch samples to laboratories following quality procedures.
- Review analytical results and produce accurate reports for customers.
- Work with testing and monitoring equipment for site activities.
- Build strong relationships with customers and provide professional service.
- Travel across North London, the South East and East Anglia, with some travel elsewhere in the UK.
