Job summary

Ofgem seeks a Head of Gas System Management to lead strategic regulation of the GB gas network during a period of major change. You will guide the Future Gas Strategy, oversee a multidisciplinary team, and collaborate with government, network operators, and consumer groups to deliver robust regulatory outcomes.

The role emphasizes senior stakeholder engagement, effective leadership, and the delivery of high-impact policies that support energy security, affordability and Net Zero objectives.

Qualifications

• Significant expertise in economic regulation or policy development in complex sectors.
• Proven track record engaging and influencing senior stakeholders, including government and industry bodies.
• Experience leading high-performing teams and delivering strategic regulatory changes.
• Excellent communication and influencing skills for specialist and non-specialist audiences.
• Strong programme and delivery management across multiple workstreams.

Responsibilities

• Lead strategic thinking for gas system regulation and future gas strategy.
• Oversee a multidisciplinary team and engage with government, networks, industry, and consumers.
