Job summary

Plymouth Community Homes is looking for a gas engineer on a fixed-term basis (3–6 months) to inspect and service domestic landlord gas systems. You will diagnose faults, complete compliance paperwork and work as part of a small team. The role includes an on-call rota with evenings and weekends, plus a company van for business use.

ACS qualifications (CCN1, CPA1, CENWAT, CKR1, HTR1) or equivalents are required. A full UK driving licence and a proactive, customer-focused approach are essential.

Qualifications

• Current ACS qualifications or recognised equivalents.
• Proven experience in a gas servicing, breakdown or maintenance role.
• Strong fault-finding and diagnostic skills.
• Good knowledge of gas safety legislation and health and safety requirements.

Responsibilities

• Carry out domestic landlord gas safety inspections and servicing.
• Diagnose and repair gas and heating system faults.
• Complete all relevant certification and compliance documentation.
• Provide an excellent customer experience during every visit.
• Work collaboratively with colleagues while managing own workload.
• Take part in rotating out-of-hours emergency service, including evenings and weekends.
