Job summary

Global Recruitment Services Ltd is seeking an experienced Service Technician/Site Services Engineer to support a client in Burton upon Trent. The role covers fault finding, gas repairs, electrical and basic mechanical work, and planned maintenance with travel across the UK and abroad.

The ideal candidate will be gas-qualified with industrial gas experience, plus some electrical know-how, to handle installation, testing, commissioning, and surveying activities.

Qualifications

• Must be qualified in a gas discipline and have experience of maintenance and installation of industrial gas systems.
• Some electrical experience is required.
• Strong fault-finding skills and industrial gas safety are essential.
• Able to follow circuit diagrams and specifications.
• Involves project installation work and commissioning of machinery.
• Basic mechanical installation skills are needed.

Responsibilities

• Fault finding and gas repairs on industrial systems.

Job description

We are currently looking for an experienced Service Technician/Site Services Engineer to work for one of our clients in Burton on Trent.

The client is a market-leading manufacturer of specialist equipment to a range of industry sectors including heavy engineering and aerospace.

Due to the specialist nature of the products this Electrical Service Engineers role is both interesting and varied and will involve fault finding/fault rectification, carrying out gas repairs along with some electrical and basic mechanical repairs, and attending planned maintenance visits and breakdowns. As such the role will involve travel both in the UK and overseas.

In addition to the service and repair aspects of the role the work will also involve working on installation projects as and when required, together with testing and commissioning. This will also involve some surveying and estimating of materials needed and the creation of Risk Assessments and Method Statements.

The successful candidate for this Service Engineers role must be qualified in an gas discipline and have experience of working with the maintenance and installation of industrial gas systems. In addition applicants must have some electrical experience. along

In addition, candidates must have some, if not all of the following:

• Strong fault-finding skills.

• Ability to follow circuit diagrams and specifications.

• Experience of commissioning new and refurbished machinery.
• Basic mechanical installation skills.

A working knowledge of combustion systems would be advantageous but is by no means essential.

As this is a service role candidates must be willing to travel on a regular basis, both within the UK and overseas.
