Job summary
18 Recruitment Limited is seeking a Gas Service & Breakdown Engineer for a permanent role within the social housing sector. You will deliver servicing, repairs and breakdown support across occupied and void properties, operating with a company van and fuel card and joining a structured on-call rota.
The role focuses on gas safety inspections, boiler servicing and fault-finding, with responsibilities for documentation and adherence to Gas Safe regulations.
Qualifications
- Gas Safe Registration is required.
- ACS qualifications CCN1/CENWAT/CKR1/HTR1 are desirable.
- Experience in social housing repairs and maintenance is advantageous.
Responsibilities
- Carry out annual gas safety inspections and CP12 certificates.
- Service, maintain and repair domestic gas boilers and heating systems.
- Diagnose and repair boiler and central heating breakdowns.
- Fault-find across domestic gas appliances and heating systems.
- Carry out repairs and replacements of heating controls, valves, pumps, radiators and related components.
- Respond to emergency heating and hot water breakdowns.
- Complete gas tightness testing and gas safety checks.
- Ensure work complies with Gas Safe regs and laws.
- Provide excellent customer service in tenants' homes.
- Complete all certification, job sheets and compliance documentation.
- Participate in compulsory out-of-hours emergency call-out rota.
- Maintain van stock and materials usage.
