Job summary

Multitask Personnel is seeking a Gas Operations Manager to lead domestic appliance installation across Luton and surrounding regions. The role combines hands-on gas fitting with mentoring a team of engineers, ensuring high standards of safety, compliance, and customer care.

You will act as technical authority, coordinating with the UK Lead Operations Manager to plan programs, manage certifications, and maintain Gas Safe registrations.

Qualifications

• Active Gas Safe registration with valid ACS credentials: CCN1 and CKR1.
• 3–5 years of field experience in domestic appliance gas fitting, with supervision experience.
• Knowledge of current UK gas safety legislation and strong problem-solving skills.
• Full UK Driving Licence with max 6 penalty points.

Gas Operations Manager

Salary: Circa £55,000 per annum + Benefits

Hours: 40 hours per week, Monday to Friday

Location: Luton and surrounding regions

Contract: Permanent, Full-Time

About This Opportunity

This is a senior, office-based opportunity for an experienced Gas Installer to take the lead on domestic appliance installation across Luton and the surrounding regions.

You’ll be the technical authority for the local installation hub, combining hands‑on fitting work with mentoring and quality oversight of a wider team of installers.

It’s a role built for someone who takes real pride in doing things properly from flawless gas tightness testing to representing the highest standards of customer care in people’s homes and who’s ready to bring that standard to the people around them.

Your day to day would be working closely with the UK Lead Operations Manager to manage the installations team who focus on gas installs, work and deal with compliance and also be able to speak to industry bodies where and when required.

Key Responsibilities

Safety and Compliance

• Enforce regulations: Ensure all work complies with local and national gas safety rules and environmental laws.
• Manage certifications: Track safety checks and maintain valid gas safety records or certificates.
• Verify credentials: Confirm that all Installation engineers hold correct and active registrations, such as the Gas Safe Register.
• Handle risk: Lead safety audits, write risk policies, and investigate any safety incidents.

Operations and Maintenance

• Oversee daily tasks: Direct routine servicing, new installations, gas appliances.
• Plan programs: Design long‑term processes and implement them.

Team and Resource Management

• Lead staff: Supervise the installation team and act as a point of contact to help with escalations.
• Train staff: Arrange ongoing technical training and safety refreshers for team members.

About You

Essential:

• Active Gas Safe registration with valid ACS credentials: CCN1 (Core Domestic Gas Safety) and CKR1 (Domestic Gas Cookers).
• Minimum 3–5 years of field experience in domestic appliance gas fitting, with proven experience supervising or coaching other engineers.
• Expert knowledge of current UK gas safety legislation and exceptional problem‑solving skills.
• Full UK Driving License with no more than 6 penalty points.
