Job summary

Places for People is hiring a qualified Gas Engineer to service, maintain and install gas systems across domestic properties in your local area. You will work to gas safety regulations, with a company van, tools, and PPE provided, ensuring high first-time fix rates and compliance.

You’ll be on-call when required and participate in a structured schedule within your community, contributing to safe homes and reliable neighbourhood services provided by Places for People.

Qualifications

• Experience as Gas Engineer in social housing or domestic properties.
• Full UK driving licence and Gas Safe registration.
• Based within PE postcode area, with flexibility for surrounding areas.
• DBS check may be required.

Responsibilities

• Carry out gas servicing, maintenance and installation across domestic properties.
• Work in line with gas safety regulations and health and safety standards.
• Participate in an on-call rota when required.
• Manage van stock to maximise first time fix rates.
• Collaborate with teams to meet service targets.

What you'll be doing

• Carrying out gas servicing, maintenance and installation across domestic properties
• Working in line with gas safety regulations and health and safety standards
• Participating in an on call rota when required
• Managing van stock to maximise first time fix rates
• Collaborating with teams to meet service targets
• Recording work activity and compliance documentation

What your day looks like

• A structured schedule covering servicing, maintenance and installation work
• Travelling between jobs in your company van
• Working independently or with a team of other tradespeople
• Engaging directly with Customers in their homes
• Completing work efficiently while maintaining compliance and safety standards

Where you'll work

• Occupied homes
• Empty (void) properties
• A range of domestic properties within your local area
• Environments involving vulnerable Customers, We're moving quickly and aim to interview as soon as possible for suitable candidates. If successful, when you join us you'll start an induction programme, which covers our systems, how we do things here and anything else you'll need to know.

• This role will require a Basic DBS check
• You may be required to work across surrounding areas
