Gas Engineer - Peterborough

We are seeking a Gas Engineer to join our team in Peterborough. The successful candidate will support residents with reactive repairs across our property portfolio, working on a planned route. Responsibilities include carrying out service repairs, assisting with breakdowns, and installing new systems.

All gas work must comply with The Gas Safety (Installation and Use) Regulations 1998 and Mears Gas Procedures. The role involves performing gas repairs and maintenance in domestic premises according to work orders, maintaining high standards of quality, safety, and customer satisfaction. Candidates must be gas qualified with current Domestic ACS certification. You will also need to complete and maintain all relevant paperwork and electronic records for audit and invoicing purposes, seek authorization for any work outside the original scope, manage stock and materials, report safeguarding concerns promptly, and participate in emergency call-out cover as required to ensure contract compliance and service satisfaction.

Role Criteria:

1. Qualified to City and Guilds / Gas Service Engineer standard with appropriate ACS certifications (CCN1, CENWAT, CKR1; CMDDA1 is preferable but not essential)
2. Good understanding of current legislation, building control, and governing body requirements
3. Experience with heating boilers, central heating, piping, plumbing, and valves
4. Reliable individual willing to work additional hours and participate in a call-out rota
5. UK Driving License

All roles require the entitlement to work in the UK. Mears does not offer visa sponsorship. To drive a Mears vehicle, candidates must be over 21, have held their license for over 3 months, and have less than 9 points. All roles are subject to DBS/Security checks before employment begins.
