Job summary

Meridian Business Support is recruiting a Gas Engineer in Irthlingborough to join a thriving safety equipment company. The role is permanent, with standard hours and a salary of £35,000 plus bonus and benefits.

You will lead gas detection and location systems, ensuring compliance and providing technical support. The successful candidate will have strong diagnostic skills, experience with gas detection equipment, and a proactive, customer-focused approach.

Qualifications

• Experience with gas detection equipment and calibration.
• Strong diagnostic and problem solving abilities.
• Excellent communication and documentation skills.
• Mentoring or coaching experience is desirable.

Responsibilities

• Inspect, service, repair, and calibrate gas detection and location systems.
• Act as technical lead for product category, ensuring compliance with legislation and manufacturer requirements.
• Review and approve calibration and service documentation.
• Investigate equipment faults, failures, and customer issues.
• Provide technical support to internal teams and customers (phone, email, onsite).
• Mentor engineers and trainees, supporting skills development.
• Conduct quality checks and contribute to process improvements.
• Maintain accurate records in Syrinx and support hire/sales order processing.
• Uphold workshop safety, housekeeping, and operational standards.
• Deputise for the Workshop Manager when required.

We are recruiting for a Gas Engineer to join a thriving safety equipment company based inIrthlingborough. This is a permanent role working Monday to Thursday 8am-5pm and Fridays 8am-4.30pm. A salary of £35,000 + bonus + excellent beneifts and training opportunities are on offer for the successful candidate!

Join a leading UK supplier of confined space and site safety equipment as an experienced Gas Engineer specialising in Gas Detection and Location Systems to join their growing team.

Key Responsibilities for the Gas Engineer

• Inspect, service, repair, and calibrate gas detection and location systems.
• Act as the technical lead for your product category, ensuring compliance with legislation and manufacturer requirements.
• Review and approve calibration and service documentation.
• Investigate equipment faults, failures, and customer issues.

• Mentor engineers and trainees, supporting skills development.
