Role Description

This is a full-time, on-site Gas Engineer role based in Greater London. The Gas Engineer will carry out installation, servicing, fault-finding, and repair of gas appliances and systems in commercial and residential settings. Day-to-day responsibilities include maintaining and repairing central heating systems, supporting plumbing works, and ensuring safe operation of LPG and natural gas installations in line with current regulations. The role involves conducting routine building maintenance checks, responding to call-outs, completing accurate service reports, and liaising with clients and colleagues to plan and deliver work efficiently. The Gas Engineer will follow company safety procedures, uphold quality standards, and contribute to continuous improvement of maintenance and repair practices.

Qualifications

• Demonstrated competence in gas systems, including LPG and central heating, with appropriate industry certifications (e.g., Gas Safe registration or equivalent).
• Practical skills in plumbing, including installation, maintenance, and repair of pipework, fixtures, and associated water systems.
• Experience in building maintenance and general maintenance & repair tasks within commercial or residential environments.
• Strong understanding of safety regulations, compliance standards, and best practices for gas and mechanical systems.
• Ability to diagnose and resolve technical issues independently, with strong problem-solving and time-management skills.
• Effective communication skills for working with clients, site contacts, and team members, and for completing clear documentation.
• Full UK driving license and willingness to travel within Greater London and surrounding areas as required.
• Relevant vocational qualifications (e.g., NVQ, City & Guilds in Gas Engineering, Plumbing, or Mechanical Services) and experience in a similar role.
