Job summary

Vogue Sourcing UK is seeking a Garment Tech to join the team in Manchester or Leicester. You will liaise with designers, adapt designs for production, and coordinate with suppliers and offshore teams to ensure efficient production and quality control.

The role involves overseeing fittings, updating workbooks, and safeguarding production budgets while maintaining high standards across womenswear and childrenswear samples. A strong textile background is essential.

Qualifications

• Understanding of manufacturing, textiles and garment construction is essential.
• Able to work alone as well as in a team; works under tight deadlines.
• Demonstrates pattern cutting and manufacturing techniques knowledge.
• Able to convey technical information in layman's terms with clarity.

Responsibilities

• Liaise with designers and adapt designs for production methods.
• Work with Suppliers and Offshore Teams; create Workbooks for styles.
• Oversee fittings of first samples, grades, PP samples and Gold Seals.
• Attend Fit sessions with Customers and update Workbooks with clear instructions.
• Evaluate material quality and final product quality; respond to queries from wholesalers.
• Ensure garments can be produced within budget; fit womens/ladies/childrenswear samples.

Vogue Sourcing is an exciting, fast-paced and dynamic global fashion supplier, with offices around the world. We are looking for a talented Garment Tech to join our team in Manchester or Leicester.

ROLES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Liaising with designers, and adapting designs to suit production methods
• Working closely with Suppliers and Offshore Teams
• Creating Workbooks for styles
• Overseeing fittings of first samples, Grades. PP samples and Gold Seals
• Attending Fit sessions with Customers
• Update Workbooks after Fit Sessions with Clear instructions and pictures if needed to make amendments
• Undertaking quality evaluations of materials and checking the quality of the final product
• Responding to product queries, including complaints, from wholesalers and customers.
• Making sure garments can be produced within budget
• Internally Fitting Womens, Ladies and Childrenswear samples on stand and update Workbooks before attending Fit Session with Next Techs

ABOUT YOU:

• An understanding of manufacturing, textiles and garment construction is essential
• Ability to work alone as well as in a team
• Able to work under tight deadlines and cope with pressure
• Have a keen interest in fashion and textiles
• Demonstrate an understanding of pattern cutting, construction and manufacturing techniques
• Technical knowledge gained preferably within fast paced commercial or supplier environment
• Flexible approach to be able to adjust to the constantly changing needs of the business.
• Ability to convey technical information clearly in layman's terms
• Exceptional eye for technical detail to consistently ensure the correct documentation is used and followed
• Applied technical knowledge of fabrics and threads
• Highly organised with good prioritisation skills
• Confident and clear communication skills; both verbal and written to work productively alongside other Product teams and external suppliers
