Job summary

Energy Jobline ZR in Manchester is seeking an experienced Garment Technologist to oversee development for day/nightwear, loungewear and swimwear across UK retailers. You will coordinate with offshore factories, manage print patterns in Optitex and ensure the product meets retailer and legal standards. The role includes some travel and a Friday home-work option, with early finish on Fridays.

Responsibilities

• Manage critical path administration and production sample submission.
• Create print patterns in Optitex for design and development.
• Work with 3D tools to generate patterns for development.

Job Description

The Company: A fantastic opportunity for an experienced Garment Technologist, to join a leading licensed character clothing company. Manufacture in the UK and source overseas, working with factories in Turkey, China, India and Bangladesh supplying day/nightwear, loungewear and swimwear. Design to the UK’s largest high street retailers and online companies. Great opportunity to join a growing business. Finish early on a Friday and the option to work from home on a Friday.

The Role

• Responsibility of working with a number of retailers – aiming for a right first-time approach.
• Creating workbooks/ specs for costings and buying samples
• Requesting of sealing samples and initial patterns, from offshore manufacturers.
• Measuring and checking of garments, internal approvals where necessary samples fitted with retailers in person or over VC, and sending comments out to the factories.
• Working closely with the factories to ensure that the product meets Retailer & Legal requirements, and necessary risk assessments are carried out.
• Administration of the critical path
• Submission of final production samples and relevant documentation.
• Creating print patterns on Optitex for the design team to set up print packs
• Working on Optitex 3D to create patterns for design and development

Skills Required

• We are looking for someone who can work as part of a team, with a positive attitude.
• Confident and clear communication skills, both verbal and written, with manufacturers, retailers and within the office environment.
• Someone who is well organised and flexible, with a logical and analytical mind, and excellent administration skills
• Someone who works well under pressure, with the ability to prioritise work and meet deadlines
• Full driving licence is essential.
• Knowledge of 3D software, i.e. Optitex/ Browzwear/ CLO, would be advantageous, training can be provided
• 2-3 years’ experience in a related area
• Willing to travel to retailers for fittings.
