Job summary

Bristol City Council is seeking a Gardener to join the Parks and Green Spaces team. You will maintain parks, housing sites and highway verges, based at Sea Mills Depot in the North of the city. This permanent full-time role covers 37 hours per week.

You will carry out grounds maintenance, support seasonal workers, and perform repairs to park features and infrastructure. NVQ Level 2 in Amenity Horticulture is preferred, and a full driving licence is required.

Qualifications

• NVQ Level 2 in Amenity Horticulture or equivalent qualification or experience.
• Knowledge of health and safety in the workplace.
• Ability to carry out the physical demands of the role, outdoors and at weekends when requested.
• Full driving licence and ability to drive a wide range of vehicles and plant.

Responsibilities

• Carrying out grounds maintenance tasks including grass cutting, pruning, weed control and waste removal.
• Supporting seasonal workers, apprentices and work placements.
• Carrying out small repairs to park features, furniture and infrastructure.
