Job summary

Hallmark Luxury Care Homes is seeking a Gardener/Maintenance Assistant to maintain our outdoor spaces and contribute to a safe, welcoming environment for residents. You will tend flowerbeds, shrubs and trees, care for fencing and equipment, and support winter outdoor maintenance.

The role requires a passion for gardening, a team-focused attitude, and a strong commitment to health and safety. 40 hours per week, with occasional weekend work, and a benefits package including pension and healthcare

Qualifications

• Passion for outdoor spaces and gardening.
• Good understanding of health and safety regulations.
• Able to work well in a team and support residents.
• Patient and empathetic in interactions with residents and colleagues.

Responsibilities

• Maintain grounds to high standards, ensuring safety and tidiness.
• Tend to flowerbeds, shrubs and trees, planting and care of flora.
• Maintain garden equipment and structures (fencing, etc.).
• Clear snow and ice in winter to keep areas safe.
• Use garden treatments in line with COSHH regulations.
• Adapt work schedule to meet residents' needs with patience.
• Collaborate with the team to create a positive environment for residents.
• Assist the Maintenance Manager with home maintenance as needed.

What Our Gardener/Maintenance Assistant Does:

• Maintain our grounds to the highest standards, ensuring they are safe, tidy, and visually appealing.
• Tend to flowerbeds, shrubs, and trees, planting and nurturing a variety of flora to enhance the beauty of our outdoor spaces.
• Care for equipment and structures such as fencing, ensuring they are well-maintained and in good working order.
• Clear snow and ice in the winter to ensure the safety of residents and staff.
• Use garden treatment chemicals in line with COSHH regulations, prioritizing the health and safety of all.
• Adapt your work schedule to accommodate the needs of our residents, demonstrating patience and empathy in all interactions.
• Collaborate with team members to create a positive and inclusive environment that supports the well-being of our residents.
• Assisting the Maintenance Manager with any maintenance requirements for the home.
