Job summary

City of London Corporation is seeking an experienced Gardener to maintain gardens and open green spaces across housing estates to a high standard. This is a practical, resident-focused role that supports the enjoyment, recreation and safety of residents and visitors.

You will work Monday to Friday 8am-4pm, handle grass cutting, strimming, pruning and planting, and maintain tools. A horticultural qualification (preferred) or substantial experience is expected, with a commitment to safety and

Qualifications

• A horticultural or relevant professional qualification preferred, or substantial equivalent experience.
• Extensive gardening/grounds maintenance experience to a high standard.
• Experience using horticultural machinery safely and fault finding.
• Strong health and safety knowledge in gardening and grounds maintenance.
• Good written and verbal communication with residents.
• Flexible, self-motivated, team player capable of working alone.
• Basic IT skills, including mobile devices and email.
• Understanding needs of social housing residents and professional service.

Responsibilities

• Mow lawns, strim edges, prune shrubs and weed beds.
• Plant and maintain soft landscaping across estates.
• Maintain horticultural tools and machinery; report defects.
• Ensure safe working practices and risk controls on site.
• Assist with general cleaning, caretaking, and grounds maintenance as required.
• Provide courteous service to residents and contractors.
