Job summary

The Best Connection is seeking a Gardener in Whitehaven to join our facilities team. The role is a general grounds and maintenance position with a Monday-Friday, 08:00-16:00 schedule and an immediate start.

You will perform signs/bench cleaning, lawn mowing, planting, litter removal, and basic repairs in an outdoor setting. Training is provided; reliability and a positive attitude are essential for success in this role.

Qualifications

• Some experience in maintenance or grounds keeping is preferred, but candidates with limited experience will be considered and given full training.
• Good physical fitness and ability to work outdoors in varying weather conditions.
• Reliability and a strong work ethic.

Responsibilities

• Cleaning and maintaining signs and benches to keep them presentable and safe.
• Mowing and caring for grassed areas to keep outdoor spaces tidy.
• Planting flowers and maintaining landscaped areas to enhance the environment.
• Removing fly tipping and other litter to maintain cleanliness and safety.
• Emptying bins and ensuring waste is managed correctly.
• Assisting with general repairs and upkeep as required.

What You'll Be Doing:

As part of your daily duties, you'll be responsible for a variety of general maintenance and grounds keeping tasks, including:

• Cleaning and maintaining signs and benches to ensure they remain presentable and safe
• Mowing and caring for grassed areas to keep outdoor spaces tidy and welcoming
• Planting flowers and maintaining landscaped areas to enhance the environment
• Removing fly tipping and other litter to maintain cleanliness and safety
• Emptying bins and ensuring waste is managed correctly
• Assisting with general repairs and upkeep as required

What We're Looking For:
