Job summary

Durateam-Environmental is recruiting an experienced R&M Dig Team (Ganger and Labourer) to perform repair and maintenance works within the water industry. This night-shift role operates outdoors in all weather, in a two-person team to excavate, repair, replace and reinstate pipelines and fittings.

Candidates must have previous water industry experience, be comfortable with night work, and follow safety rules while coordinating with supervisors and other crews to complete tasks to standard.

Qualifications

• Must have previous water industry experience.
• Experience within water, utilities, civils or groundworks.
• Experience in excavation and reinstatement is highly desirable.
• Willing and able to work night shifts through the night.
• Good teamwork and communication skills.
• Able to follow instructions and work safely around underground services.
• Reliable, hardworking and safety-conscious.

Responsibilities

• Assist excavation activities, including digging, backfilling and trench support.
• Carry out reinstatement works to the required standards, including footpaths, roads and verges.
• Assist with the repair, replacement and installation of: Water pipes, Water meters, Stop taps and valves.
• Help locate and safely expose underground services.
• Work alongside supervisors, engineers and other teams to complete jobs efficiently.
• Maintain a safe, clean and organised work site.
• Adhere to all health & safety, company and water industry regulations.
• Use hand tools and small plant where required.
• Complete works safely, efficiently and to the required standard during night-time operations.

Both the Ganger and Labourer must have previous water industry experience and be confident working as part of a two-person team carrying out excavation, repair, replacement and reinstatement works.
