About the role

We’re proud to offer nearly 200 products in our Love Local range which includes tasty treats from our very own Gadsbys Bakery in Southwell. Gadsbys has been kneading, mixing and baking for over 50 years! From bread rolls to Bakewell tarts, all our delicious products are made with passion and pride. Our hardworking team work closely together to ensure that our quality products taste amazing, are made with skill and delivered fresh for our regular customers.

We have an opportunity for a passionate and dedicated Technical Manager to join our team. Responsible for a small technical and quality assurance team, you’ll ensure we continue to meet and exceed the standards our customers expect. Also, you’ll manage and maintain food safety and quality assurance standards as well as identifying opportunities to continuously improve ways of working.

Responsibilities
  • To ensure the operational process and production of finished products are appropriately controlled in line with HACCP management systems.
  • To review and maintain all quality management processes and procedures in line with legal and customer requirements.
  • Assist with the development of a ‘quality culture’ that all bakery colleagues adhere to.
  • Provide coaching and support to make sure all bakery colleagues understand how their role contributes towards ongoing quality and safety.
About You

To be considered for this role, you will need to hold a qualification in HACCP at a minimum of level 3. You’ll also be able to demonstrate previous quality assurance and technical experience within the food industry. You’ll show excellent leadership skills and have an up‑to‑date knowledge of food safety standards and legislation.

You’ll have experience in managing non‑compliance and handling complaints at all levels. Additionally, you’ll demonstrate experience of implementing improvements regarding food safety and quality standards. You’ll have a good understanding of how to use Microsoft Office 365 and have strong written and verbal communication skills.

Gadsby’s produce over 125 different product lines, including traditional and continental breads, delicious cream cakes, pastries, and confectionary. The team produce, pack and deliver more than 5 million items a year, across six days a week, to meet the demand of our customers. They are a very popular brand within Lincolnshire Co‑op’s Love Local range and also supply products to other businesses.
