Hampshire Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust in Basingstoke is recruiting a Junior Clinical Fellow in General Surgery for a fixed-term 6-month post (extendable to 1 year). The role supports emergency and elective services, with ward rounds, diagnostic oversight and opportunities to participate in clinic and theatre in urology.

The post is full-time (40 hours per week) with rota enhancements and a strong emphasis on supervision by SHO, registrar and consultant teams.

Qualifications

  • GMC registration with a licence to practise.
  • MRCS or Part 1.
  • NHS experience.

  • Undertake urology ward rounds with registrars/consultants and manage diagnostics and discharge summaries.
  • Attend clinics and theatres in urology where available.
  • Provide out-of-hours general surgery cover on a 1 in 10 rota.

Hampshire Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust has a vacancy for a trust Foundation Year 1 in General Surgery and Urology at the Basingstoke and North Hampshire Hospital site.

This post is designed to support both emergency and elective services across the surgical division.
This post holder will sit on the FY1 rota with support from the SHO, registrar and consultant team.

Main duties of the job

Clinical duties expected on the wards include undertaking urology ward rounds with registrars/consultants, requesting and monitoring of diagnostics and discharge summaries.

There is an opportunity to attend clinic and theatre in urology.

Out of hours general surgery cover on a 1 in 10 rota.
6 months, extendable to 1 year.
