Job summary

A financial institution in Greater London is seeking an experienced FX Execution & Liquidity Manager (Head of Desk) to oversee FX trading and liquidity management. The successful candidate will ensure efficient FX execution and compliance with regulatory standards, while leading a focused team. This role offers a hybrid working setup and competitive salary, alongside stock options after 12 months, in a dynamic work environment.

Qualifications

• 7+ years’ experience in FX execution and/or liquidity or treasury management.
• Deep understanding of FX markets, trade execution mechanics, and liquidity risk frameworks.
• Working knowledge of FCA regulatory obligations including safeguarding and best execution standards.

Responsibilities

• Oversee day-to-day FX trade execution within a small, focused team.
• Deliver best execution across platforms and counterparties.
• Manage liquidity across safeguarding accounts and nostro accounts.
• Lead, manage, and mentor a team of FX Execution Desk Analysts.
• Shape FX execution strategies to optimise pricing, reduce costs and manage FX risk.
• Partner with internal IT to support automation and rollout of new FX products.
• Create, manage, and periodically adjust the desk’s procedures and manuals.

We are seeking an experienced FX Execution & Liquidity Manager (Head of Desk) to oversee the institutions FX trading and liquidity management. This is an important role within our Electronic Money Institution responsible for ensuring efficient FX execution, optimal liquidity across multiple currencies jurisdictions, and full compliance with FCA and EU Regulators safeguarding rules. The successful candidate will bridge market execution with treasury oversight, supporting both day-to-day operations and strategic growth.

What you’ll be doing

FX Execution

• Overseeingday-to-dayFXtradeexecutionwithinasmall,focusedteam.

• Trackingspreads,costs,andexecutionperformancetomaintainoperationalefficiency.
• Managingrelationshipswithliquidityproviderstoensurecompetitivepricingandreliableaccess.
• ShapingFXexecutionstrategiestooptimisepricing,reducecosts,andmanageFXrisk.
• PartneringwithinternalITteamstosupportautomationandtherolloutofnewFXproducts.
• Beingcomfortabletocreate,manage,andperiodicallyadjustthedesk’sproceduresandmanuals.

Liquidity Management

• Managingliquidityacrosssafeguardingaccounts,nostroaccounts,andpaymentproviders.
• CoordinatingwithFinance,Risk,andOperationsonliquidityplanningandtreasurycontrols.
• EnsuringadherencetoFCAsafeguardingandliquidityrequirementsforEMIs.

People Management and Leadership

• Lead,manage,andmentoraTeamofFXExecutionDeskAnalysts
• Setclearobjectives,performancemetrics,andaccountabilitystandardsforteammembers
• Conductperiodicperformancereviews
• Actasanescalationpointforthedeskstaffonorganisationalissues,operationalchallenges,andexecutionrisks

About you, you have

• 7+years’experienceinFXexecutionand/orliquidityortreasurymanagement,ideallywithinanEMI,fintech,orfinancialinstitution.
• DeepunderstandingofFXmarkets,tradeexecutionmechanicsforspotandforwardcontracts,andliquidityriskframeworks.
• WorkingknowledgeofFCAregulatoryobligations,includingsafeguardingandbestexecutionstandards.
• Aprovenabilitytomanageandgrowrelationshipswithbanks,PSPs,andliquidityproviders.
• Stronganalyticalmindsetwithprecisioninproblem-solvinganddecision-making.
• Excellentcommunicationskillsandconfidenceinengagingcross-functionalstakeholders.
